Terms & Conditions

Using Forcus
These terms apply to the Forcus Windows and Android apps, companion extension and account services supplied by the Forcus developer. By using Forcus, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using it. If the law where you live requires a parent or guardian's permission to agree to these terms, obtain it before using the service.
Forcus helps you manage focus sessions, tasks and chosen distractions. It is not a medical service, emergency service, parental-control guarantee or device security product. You are responsible for choosing settings appropriate to your device and needs.
Accounts and your content
Local features can be used without an account. Google sign-in and sync require a supported account and an internet connection. Keep your Google account and devices secure. Only connect devices that you intend to share tasks, history and rules with. You remain responsible for the information you enter and must have the right to use it.
You keep ownership of your tasks, notes and other content. You permit Forcus and its service providers to store, transmit and process that content as needed to provide the features you choose. The Privacy Policy explains this handling. Do not put information in tasks or notes that you do not want stored on connected devices or, when sync is on, in the cloud.
Blocking, timers and sync limits
Focus Shield requires the relevant browser or operating system access. Features differ by platform. Third-party app layouts, hidden browser addresses, revoked permissions, force-stop, device restrictions or an unavailable background service can prevent blocking or timely updates. Forcus cannot promise that every route to a social feature is blocked or that all timers, alerts and sync actions arrive without delay.
A timed blocking lock is intended to continue through breaks and normal app closure until its deadline. Read its confirmation before enabling it. Account deletion does not remove device-local locks or OS permissions. Keep access to essential apps and services; do not rely on Forcus for emergency access or safety-critical timing.
Sync is a convenience, not a guaranteed backup. Offline edits or simultaneous changes can cause conflicts. Keep an export of information you cannot afford to lose. Closing the app, signing out, disabling sync and deleting an account have different effects, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Allowed use and software rights
You may install and use the copies of Forcus lawfully made available to you. Forcus artwork, branding and original code remain the property of their rights holders. Third-party components have their own licenses and notices. These terms do not remove rights granted by those licenses or by applicable law.
Do not use Forcus to break the law, access someone else's account, distribute harmful content, attack or overload the service, or bypass account access controls. We may restrict cloud access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, protect users or comply with law. Where appropriate, contact support to discuss an access issue.
Updates and payments
Updates can change features, supported app layouts or compatibility. A desktop update may download and require closing or restarting Forcus. Android updates use Google Play or Android's installer, depending on how the app was installed. Only install updates from sources you trust.
The current implementation does not provide a working in-app subscription, payment checkout or paid entitlement system. Website preview prices do not by themselves create a purchase or subscription. Any future paid offer must state its price, included access, renewal/cancellation terms and applicable refund rules before payment. Store-managed purchases are also subject to that store's terms and your statutory rights.
Stopping use or deleting your account
You can stop using Forcus, revoke permissions, sign out or request account deletion. Delete Account removes your Forcus account and synced account records, not your Google account or local/exported data. A new sign-in can create a new account. See the Privacy Policy and account deletion page for the steps and retention details.
Availability and legal rights
Forcus is provided as available. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise uninterrupted operation, perfect blocking or error-free sync. We are not responsible for losses caused by uses or circumstances outside our reasonable control to the extent permitted by law. Nothing here excludes liability, warranties, remedies or consumer/privacy rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We may update these terms as the service changes. The updated date identifies the current text; material changes will receive additional notice where required. These terms do not select a foreign court, waive mandatory consumer protections or override the laws that apply to you. Contact the Forcus developer at the email below with questions or disputes.
